Talia Alt

Director

Senior Physiotherapist | Myotherapist

Master of Physiotherapy | Bachelor Health Science (Complementary Medicine) | Advanced Diploma Myotherapy

Originally from Melbourne, Talia moved to Adelaide in 2012 to study her Masters of Physiotherapy, which she completed at the end of 2013. What was meant to be a couple of years over in SA has turned into 12 years now, and Talia is happy to call Adelaide home.

Growing up doing gymnastics, Talia developed an interest in human movements and how the body works. This drew to her to studying massage and myotherapy, before moving to Adelaide to study her physio qualifications.

Since completing her clinical qualifications, Talia has worked across a variety of settings, including the AFL and NRL, local sports, private practice and aged and community care.

After working in a private clinical setting for 5 years, Talia started Active Balance of the clinical room at MesoMorph CrossFit, and from there hasn’t looked back. The recent expansion to our St Marys clinic has brought the vision of a holistic and client centred practice into reality.

Talia enjoys working with people from all walks of life, however has keen interest in working with active individuals, as well as helping people suffering from headaches, neck and back pain.

In her spare time, you’ll find Talia training at her local CrossFit gym, walking her dog Ralphy, or spoiling her two cats, Poppy and Barney.

Emily Clements

Senior Physiotherapist | Bachelor of Physiotherapy | Bachelor of Psychology (Honours)

My name is Emily Clements and I graduated from a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at University of SA in 2020.

Since then I have done professional development courses in Pilates, Strength and conditioning and shoulder rehabilitation.

I have a special interest in shoulder health and working with people with shoulder injuries, after struggling on/off with shoulders myself, however I also enjoy a wide range of injuries and types of clients - from the sports enthusiast, the on/off gym goer or the office worker with neck/back issues who's always putting their kids first! I don't believe pain is something we just have to "put up with" or "push through" and I constantly strive to help alleviate as best I can!

Fun fact about me I also graduated from a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) at Flinders University in 2016. I enjoy building relationships with people and getting to know how their pain/injury is affecting them and their quality of life and working towards goals to alleviate this! I believe a there isn't "one approach" fits all but you have to meet each patient with where they are at and tailor their treatment plan as such!

If you can't find me at Active Balance, you'll usually find me at the gym training Crossfit which is my current passion and side-hobby that takes up too much of my time! I feel like this helps me understand an "athlete" mentality and training around injuries which allows me to give more to my patients that way!

I love being a physiotherapist and meeting different types of people from all walks of life. I believe my job perpetually grows me as both a person and practitioner daily and I'm always willing to help!

If you're struggling with any ongoing aches/pains or niggling and nagging injuries, I believe it doesn't have to be that way and I hope to see you in the clinic soon!

Nedha Butt

Physiotherapist | Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours)

Nedha has grown up in Adelaide with an active lifestyle and always has had a keen interest in the health and wellbeing of others. In the past, Nedha enjoyed playing Basketball and Rugby but now you can find her playing anything socially.

Loving and appreciating movement from the day she can remember and the impact it has on people has led Nedha here. Nedha has a genuine love and passion in meeting and connecting with people to collaborate and work with them using a holistic approach to aid them in reaching their goals and back to doing what they love.

Outside of work, time with her family and friends are precious to her. Nedha loves to spend time outdoors or keep active, be it in the gym, running (trail, of course), or trying to master some calisthenic skills. She also finds time for a cheeky movie or tv show, how many, maybe she shouldn’t share here.

Nedha has a special interest in treating and rehabbing sports injuries, as well as working with runners. She is available in the clinic Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Austin Munzberg

Clinical Exercise Physiologist | Bachelor of Human Movement (Exercise & Sports Science) | Master of Teaching | Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology

After growing up in the regional town of Port Pirie, South Australia, Austin moved to Adelaide to pursue his passion for exercise and helping people, which had formed from watching his Dad do so for many years in his career as a physiotherapist. He began his pursuit at the University of South Australia (UniSA), where he completed a Bachelor's degree in Human Movement, Exercise, and Sport Science.

Throughout his studies, Austin had a particular interest in educating people about healthy lifestyles and physical activity. Recognising this interest, he decided to pursue a career that would give him the opportunity to educate people, so he went on to complete a Masters of Teaching at UniSA. However, as his teaching studies were concluding, he was accepted into a Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology at Charles Sturt University, which was his dream job.

After a brief stint of teaching primary students, Austin became an Exercise Physiologist in 2021 after graduating from Charles Sturt University in Bathurst with a Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology and commenced work that same year.

Austin's family still currently lives and works in Port Pirie, and he occasionally visits and plays football. However, he is proud to call Adelaide his home after 9 years. He has been a member of the Adelaide basketball community during this time, being a squad member with the Central District Lions and more recently the Woodville Warriors NBL1.

Austin has been working as an accredited exercise physiologist since 2021 and has found his passion in enhancing the quality of life in all individuals and communities. He hopes to inspire the same passion for exercise and a healthy lifestyle in all his clients.
